Publishers is an independent publishing company, not affiliated with
any other firm using the name or imprint "Impact." We are
publishers of Working for
Peace and other titles that serve human development. (Lest a
similar firm name lead to confusion, please note that we publish no
books on tourism or related to Burma.)
The
owners, management, staff and authors of Impact Publishers wish
to express abhorrence of the oppression of freedom, rule by
force and violence, and forced labor by the military government
of Burma ("Myanmar").
Impact
declares its support of Burmese Nobel Peace Prize winning advocate for
democracy Aung San Suu Kyi, and joins President Vaclev Havel, Bishop
Desmond Tutu, the Campaign for Human Rights and Democracy in Burma,
Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and others in
supporting the people of Burma and urging the United Nations to impose
sanctions against the military rulers of Burma ("Myanmar")
unless and until governing power is returned to Burma's democratically
elected leaders.
